How much do writers really make? |
Here's a link to a very interesting post on the realities of writing income. Drives home how far I have to go, at least.
http://www.scalzi.com/whatever/004893.html
John Scalzi writes in a variety of genres, both fiction and non-fiction. In his blog, he gives insight - with hard numbers - into his writing income from SF. Genre fiction is generally a lower source of income than literary fiction or mainstream fiction.
Now I have a better yardstick!
Thanks a lot, John, for this illuminating discussion.
Enjoy, all of you, and my writer-kin should learn something from this. The most important lesson: don't be hasty in quitting the day job. Great advice!
Hugs, Liddy

Happy Birthday Liddy!
April 2nd is the next full moon. Did you know that you should make a wish on the first full moon after your birthday?
Wish for one tangible, material item to come to you sometime during the year.
Consider this my present to you!
Hugs and birthday spanks (but only if you want them.) ; )
